Music Ontario Presents Sync’d Up: A 101 Approach to Music Placements in Film and TV
Wednesday, February 19th, 7pm
Art Gallery of Hamilton Design Annex, 118 James St. North, Hamilton, ON
As the industry undergoes drastic changes, artists and master rights controllers have to create diverse revenue streams in order to stay competitive. Placements in TV, film, commercials, games, and other media can not only create exposure for an artist, but add to the revenue pot as well.
This panel will discuss the mechanics of placements, including which rights need to be cleared and how the artists and rights holders are paid. In addition, panelists will discuss how to get your music noticed, when to pitch them, and the importance of music in their projects.
Panelists will also discuss their roles within the process, providing insight into how, when, and what they do. This will be beneficial for those who want to pitch to them, as well as those aspiring to get involved from an industry point of view.
