HELLO CAT PIANO OPEN STAGE with your Hostess Patricia Lynn Bebee. Fun starts at 9pm!

Thursday SIMPLY SAUCER plus THE BRITEMORES (from Detroit Michigan). 8pm Doors

Simply Saucer’s Saucerland tour continues with a gig in Hamilton Ontario. Cleveland, Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit and Toronto audiences gave a wild reception to Canada’s legendary pioneering avante rock n roll band in their recent U.S./Canada swing.

Formed in 1973, the band was originally a six-piece, largely improvisational, outfit..The name Simply Saucer was chosen in tribute to the Pink Floyd album A Saucerful of Secrets.
By October 1973, the band contracted into a four-piece. In its original incarnation, the band only released one 7″ single, “She’s a Dog/I Can Change My Mind” in 1978 on fanzine magnate Gary Pig Gold’s Pig Label. However, an abortive recording session with producers Daniel Lanois and Bob Lanois from 1974 and a June 28, 1975 concert performance on the roof of Jackson Square were later compiled for the 1989 album Cyborgs Revisited.
Cyborgs quickly came to be regarded as a lost classic of Canadian music, being named one of the greatest Canadian albums of all time by the magazines Chart, Forced Exposure, Pop Matters and Alternative Press,as well as appearing as the 36th best Canadian album in Bob Mersereau’s 2007 book The Top 100 Canadian Albums.
Cyborgs was subsequently reissued on Sonic Unyon in 2003, with several bonus tracks including the 1978 single.
Hip California label In The Red are set to reissue Cyborgs Revisited in 2016 with additional tracks.

In 2013 and 2014, their singles “Bullet Proof Nothing” and “Reckless Agitation” were reissued on Mammoth Cave Recording Co.

Baby Nova, their most recent LP recorded in Detroit is out now on Schizophrenic Records and was Punk Recording of the Year in 2015 at the Hamilton Music Awards

Nearly 30 years in the making, The Britemores is a collaborative effort featuring long-time Detroit musical allies Johnny Chan (New Dynasty 6, Split Signals), Jeff Meier (Detroit Cobras/Rocket 455/Nathaniel Mayer/Gino Washington), Jerry Barterian (Onset, Hysteric Narcotics) and Will Lorenz (aka “the kid”).

Comprised of myriad styles and influences, The Britemores’ music gives a thoughtful, greasy nod to Detroit garage/punk legends through memorable guitar hooks while cleansing their audience’s musical palate with soft-spoken, heartfelt ballads that even their mothers approve of.

Saturday  THOMAS ST CLAIR OXFORD BLUE & TIMID THE BRAVE

TIMID, THE BRAVE

Timid, the Brave is the solo moniker of Tim Selles, former singer for the now dis-banded Bruekke. Following the breakup of his former band, he found himself writing somewhat darker, more introspective songs; songs that wrestle with the disappointments of failure, the allure of departure, and the complexities of faith. Working with a community of friends, the record was recorded from August – October of 2012.  A new album is currently in the works, due sometime in 2016.
