The Medicine Hat / Hamilton

The Medicine Hat is an experimental-pop band from Hamilton, Ontario.
Frontwoman Nabi Sue Bersche’s nimble, raw lyricism is illuminated by a voice like holy fire: blistering and purifying. Focussed guitar work dances with the hypnotic timbres and soaring melodies of analog synthesizers. Deft lines and dangerous grooves are intoned by a disciplined drum & bass combo. Chaos lurks beneath the surface of The Medicine Hat’s tight motifs and rhythmic trances, erupting into moments of prophetic ecstasy. Their live performances are wild affairs. Brimstone at their heels, The Medicine Hat’s contagious energy turns rooms into reveries.

Lost Cousins / Toronto

Family isn’t always bound by blood. In the case of Lost Cousins it is bound through the kindred connection found in their unique blend of psychedelic soul rock. Coming together as students in Kingston, ON, Dylan Cantlon Hay, Cam Duffin, Lloyd McArton and Thomas Dashney had humble beginnings at house concerts and basement performances, where they became known for their intensely energetic live shows and memorable songwriting.

The Kents / Lindsay

The Kents are an emerging force from Lindsay, Ontario that call on anthemic intimacy.
Formed in 2014, The Kents is comprised of Warren Frank (vocals), Freddy Kwon (guitar), Luke Shauf (bass) and Tanner Paré (drums).
Waking EP, produced by Derek Hoffman (The Elwins, DCF) at Fox Sounds in Toronto with mastering from Dan Weston (Shad, City And Colour), encapsulates lyrical explorations of family, loss and separation from the comfort of adolescence with a hook-hungry, pop filter that controls the chaos.

Matty is going on a tour across Canada and we’re having a tour send off party at This Ain’t Hollywood on Friday, June 30th! Joined by his band,Justine Fischer and Matt Burns, there will be new songs – and old songs that you love – and we’ll have merch for the first time as well! Our buddy,Steve Vincent De Piante (Deeps) will be opening the night. Doors are at 9pm – come on out, help us put gas in the tank and support live music!

Matty Simpson is a world class guitar player and singer-songwriter based out of Hamilton, Ontario. His style has been called an eclectic mix of rock and rhythm and blues and his ability to come up with original compositions and guitar licks that tastefully fit into any tune are an illustration of his musical expertise. To hear Matty’s songs is to appreciate what a dedicated singer-songwriter he has become. His songs are a testament to the years of devotion to the craft yet their message remains relative to all of his listeners. His singing and vocal styles have been compared to musical greats such as Chris Cornell, John Fogerty, Eddie Vedder and Willie P. Bennett. His soulful melodies and thoughtful chord progressions will have you wanting to listen to his songs on repeat.

Steve “Deeps” De Piante is a multi instrumentalist and alt-country/soul songwriter and performer from Hamilton, Ontario. With heartfelt lyrics and music that you will be sure to at least tap your toes to, Deeps’ always enthusiastic performances are not to be missed!
